Gregory P. Forester is the Founder and President of Forester Properties, Inc., and its Affiliates. Since 2002 the Company has grown to own and operate approximately 2.7 million square feet of retail, office and industrial real estate in seven cities and five states. Over his 18 year career, Forester has worked with teams to acquire and effectively manage over 80 properties with total capitalization in excess of $550 million.
Prior to starting his own venture, Forester served first as Vice President of Acquisition and then Chief Financial Officer of Rubin Pachulski Properties, L.P. and its various affiliates. His primary responsibilities included acquiring and managing office and industrial buildings, retail shopping centers, hotels, parking lots and apartments throughout the western United States. Specific responsibilities included identifying and evaluating investment opportunities, handling the acquisition and financing transactions, and in many cases re-financing of properties, and working with the applicable management team in seeking to enhance value and maximize investor returns.
From 1994 to 1997, Forester was a senior consultant at Price Waterhouse LLP in the real estate group where he provided real estate consulting services on large projects throughout the United States. He analyzed residential developments, marinas, hotels, office and retail real estate that were in bankruptcy, litigation or acquisition/disposition for various clients including investment banks, financial institutions, REITs, developers and other property owners. Significant projects included the bankruptcies of Rockefeller Center in New York City and Baldwin Builders in Orange County.
He started his career as an analyst at Kotin, Regan and Mouchly, Inc. (KRM) where he was responsible for developing cash flow models to assist in valuations of real estate and fiscal impact studies. The experience Forester obtained at KRM provided a solid foundation for sophisticated analysis of real estate.
Forester has a B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis in real estate finance from California State Polytechnic University at Pomona. He is a licensed broker with the California Department of Real Estate and a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers. Forester also serves alongside his wife as Co-Executive Vice President and member of the Board of STOP CANCER, a leading non-profit organization dedicated to finding a cure for cancer by funding research for National Cancer Institute designated centers. He resides in Brentwood with his wife Tracy and their two young children, Jack and Grace.
